Abstract

The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of low laser irradiation on the grafted skin in rabbits.
For this study 24 rabbits, weighing 1.8kg to 2.0kg, divided into control and experimental groups; lased and non lased group.
All experimental animals were anesthetized with Ketalar (Ketamine HCl), 5mg/kg body wt, skins, including dermis and epithermis circular shapes in 2.5cm diameter, of both gluteal region were excised and grafted to the opposite side
interchangeably.
The right side of the grafted skin was lased low energy laser, infrared ray, 800nm, 25Mw, 1khZ(Spectra 303, Fasmatac, U.K.) 30 sec per one day till the end of experiments respectively.
All the experimental animals were sacrificed on the lst, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th day after experiments respectively.
The grafted tissues were taken from animals, and fixed in 10% neutral formalin, dehydrated, embedded in paraffin, and made preparation of 6u thick.
They were stained with hematoxylin and eosin, periodic acid - Schiff¡¯s Masson¡¯s trichrome and toluidine blue stain method.
For the mast cell examination, all the cells were counted per microscopic field in 400 multiplication. And means, number of mast cells in each preparation and probability tests were performed.
@ES Following results were obtained
@EN 1. Epithelial down growth toward the grafted epithelium was noted on the 5th day of experiment in both lased and non lased group at the junction between remained ungrafted and grafted epithelium. Epithelium of the junction of grafted region
was
fused on the 14th day in non lased, on the 12th day in lased group. But the papilla and rete peg was indistinct.
2. The cellular activity in subepidermal connective tissues of grafted skin was noted on the 9th day on the both groups. And the degree was increased on the lased group compare to that of the non lased.
3. Organization adjacent to the junction of remained and grafted epithelium and the junction between grafted epithelium and subcutis were completed on the 12th day in the non lased, and on the 9th in the lased group.
4. In PAS reaction, the reactions were increased on the 3rd, 5th day compare to that on the lst day and decreased on the 7th day, but it¡¯s similar to that on the lst day in the non lased group.
5. In PAS reaction, the reactions of the non lased group were increased on the 3rd, 5th, 7th day compare to that on the lst day in the lased group, but the reaction was decreased on the 3rd, 5th, 7th day compare to that on the lst day in the
lased
group, but the reaction was decreased compare to that in the non lased group.
6. The population of mast cells was increased on the lst, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th day group in the lased group, but decreased on the 14th day compare to that in the control group.
7. The distribution of mast cell was decreased on the all day experimental groups in group compare to that in the control group.
